Fabulous induction ready pan.
Mauviel pots and pans are superb for use with induction cooktops. The pans are heavy, cook very evenly, and make perfect use of induction's instant heat. I was surprised to find out that my very expensive Swiss cookware did not have enough iron to work on an induction burner. The Mauviel pans work perfectly. Because the pans are not nonstick coated, clean up is more difficult but to me avoiding nonstick products is worth the extra clean up time.
And here is a plug for another wonderful product: the Viking induction hotplate. It is beautiful and functions perfectly. Liquids boil almost immediately; stir fry and sautes are equally quick.
Induction cookers are for people who want to cook real food quickly and with energy efficiency (keeping the kitchen cool); microwaves are for people who want to heat up some food-like concoctions in toxic packaging.
TrueLove
I really love this pot! It is difficult to find this quality without a rather intense search. This baby has just the right weight and is beautiful to boot. I use it every day to brew my pitcher of iced tea with good tea leaves: heat the water to almost boiling, dump in the tea leaves, remove from heat, cover with the lovely lid, wait 5 minutes and then strain! Dilute to taste.
quite good, but not superb
The product is overall fine but, being Mauviel quite a reputed brand, it's not understandable how the lid is just a "generic" one which doesn't properly fit on the saucepan.
If you want it without lid, it's OK, though.
