Simax Glassware 6826 Pizza Baking Dish, 12.5-Inch

Even cooking
My mother-in-law had some she uses for making peanut clusters and we used hers for baking vegetarian burgers and they worked so well, that I went looking for some like hers. The do not make hers any more so I looked in Amazon and found these. Tried them out and they work just as well. Now to try out other things that I can use rather than the tin pans I used before.
Buy them and you will not be disappointed.

Best pizza tray you can buy.
I bought 2 glass trays many years ago. Loved them so much that when I saw them on your web site, I had to buy 2 more, even though they are smaller than the ones I have.
Pizza comes out crisp and delicious. The dough does not stick to the pan.
I recommend it to any pizza lover.
Ciao
Rose Polsinelli.

Rachael Ray Stoneware 3.5-Quart Covered Square Cassersquare Casserole, Orange

Bride loved this!
Bought for wedding gift and the bride loved it - she said this cookware
is the best and the orange goes well with her retro kitchen theme.

So Beautiful!
This is such a beautiful casserole. It's not too big. I use it for almost anything. It looks lovely on the dining table.

Very well made
I decided to replace all of my bakeware and picked this collection. I'm so glad I did! This covered casserole dish bakes casseroles and other dishes so nicely, and it transfers to the dinner table beautifully and stylishly. The tall handles are a great idea and they make it easier to pull the casserole from the oven and then move it to the table.

Corningware French White 6 White Includes: 1.5 Qt and 2.5 Qt Round casserole w/covers

Plastic lids didn't fit our dishes
I just bought this set of CorningWare and to our dissapointment, the plastic covers were too small for both of the dishes. With a lot of effort - we were able to get one of the lids to fit, but there is no hope with the other one. It's unfortunate, because I thought the lids would come in handy for storing leftovers. Aside from the problem with the plastic lids - Corningware has continued to provide good quality dishware.

Glass lids perfect for microwave steam rice
These bowls, when used with the glass lids, are favorites for steam cooking in the microwave. They can even transform parboiled rice (like Uncle Ben's) into good tasting rice, if given enough boiling and steaming time in the microwave. Cooking in these bowls seems to take a little longer time in the microwave, compared to thinner bowls.

The bowls are thick, heavy stoneware, and somewhat break-resistant, but not as tough as your grandparent's Corningware. These are not made from the original Corningware materials that were used decades ago.

These bowls and glass lids are OK for conventional oven casseroles; and microwave use, and dishwasher and refrigerator. Of course the plastic lid cannot go in a regular oven. OK on top rack of dishwasher.

No handles at the sides of bowls. The top rim is slightly flared, but not enough to grasp as a handle. That is an advantage when nesting bowls for storage. On the other hand, it is tricky to grasp the hot...

classic set
Love this series of product. Arrived well protected. Despite concerns from previous reviews about storage lids-lids DO fit. Got these because one or both of these will fit in microwave.

Pyrex Grip-Rite 8-Inch Square Baking Dish, Clear

SHATTERS
In case you haven't read the January issue of Consumer Reports yet, let me summarize: The American makers of "Pyrex" bought only the "Pyrex" name, and have applied it to an entirely different, cheaper product, which is more likely to shatter from heat. The European Pyrex still uses the traditional Pyrex formula and is as heat-resistant as always.

"We baked at least five samples of each brand in a 450-degree oven. All of the U.S. Pyrex and Anchor dishes shattered when placed on the wet countertop. None of the European dishes ... broke"

Amazon sells the European product: [ASIN:B002KHNQ3E Arcuisine Elegance Glass 2.8 Quart Rectangular Baker] as well as: [ASIN:B0016LQ01K Marinex 5-1/2-Quart Prediletta Deep Rectangular Baking Dish]

really 7x7 inches
I love pyrex but I don't know what they were thinking with this re-design. The new Grip Rite has wider handles which to me were unnecessary and only create more baked-on surface to clean. The dish itself is now tapered, unlike the old model. It may measure 8x8 at the top but it measures only 7x7 on the bottom. Not ideal for even baking, especially if one were going to create layers for a cake. I want a pan that is truly 8x8 and will now look at other brands instead. Disappointing.

It shattered :(
Ok, I bought this without reading the reviews because it's....Pyrex. Been using it for years, my mom has used it since I know I was at least 10 (and before), so for over 30 years. Pyrex is a great brand. Well, was?

Anyhow, baked a Homestyle Bake in this. 425 degrees. And it shattered.

Amazon however was very nice. Just got off the phone with an awesome customer service rep who refunded my money. I kept laughing, I couldn't help it.... yes, dinner got ruined, but to me it was just...funny in the end. It's Pyrex!!! But, like others have posted, this particular version (the US version apparently) isn't so good anymore.

So, if you have one and it shatters (I said exploded, but shatter is a better word), and bought it from Amazon, call them. I also took a picture in case they need it for anything.

So...experience with this dish? Horrible, 1 star. Experience with Amazon? Amazing, as always.

Romertopf 99145 Anniversary Glazed Clay Baker, Large

Clay oven cooking
One has not tasted how good beef short ribs can taste cooked in such a clay oven. I have bought 4 over the years, and have given them to my friends who have loved the taste of foods I cooked in Romertophs. Of course, many other meats can be cooked in such ovens. I am a bought to buy the largest size. Make sure your oven's height can fit the size you buy.

I always fit my kitchen with huge ovens for this purpose and other reasons, such as large turkeys and full sized Prime Rib roasts.
