Washes rice great.
Washes and rinses well -- let water run as you agitate rice. Starch water flows out the hole in the upper sides.. It is big though for me. It would have been good to know ounce or millimeters for each # posted so buy accordingly. Still great.

I love this bowl! It's a sturdy, good quality item made in Japan, not China. It's very light weight and perfect for rinsing rice. The drain holes are at the top "spout" that sticks out. Rinse the rice and drain the water. Easy. Not only is it lighter to rinse rice in this wash basin than in the actual rice pot, it keeps from scratching up my $300+ Zojirushi inner pot!!
